The House of God

The House of God

House of God

Muslim-female-silhouette Tasnim Asgharali Jaffer  (Moshi,Tanzania)

The cubical placed in a distant land
As a magnet, it attracts
Many pilgrims from all of the landsĀ
Constructed upon the directions of the Laird

By His servant, whom He did address
as a friendĀ
Along with his young lad, as his aid’s manĀ
The governor of a neighbouring land

Great envy then felt
On seeing so many pilgrims land
To worship and circumambulateĀ
Around the tiny, humble, cubical black

So, built a magnificent, worshipping placeĀ
Now, he called upon the people of all the landsĀ
They, a visit to this new location pay
But sadly, no positive response did he get

And his envy turned into a hatred greatĀ
Collecting a large army he preparedĀ
To destroy the humble, cubical space.Ā  Ā

An Elephant ‘at the head’ he placed
With warriors and soldiers to back
Towards the holy Kaaba he raced

ButĀ
All of a sudden, a flock of birds came
Small pebbles upon them rained
Causing one and all to lay down deadĀ
