Dr Hasnain Gulamali Walji is a researcher, educator, and author focusing on the unique intersection of technology, AI, and human behaviour. As a pioneering thought leader, he is recognized for his innovative approach and out-of-the-box thinking that consistently propels the businesses and non-profit organizations he collaborates with, ensuring their relevance and progression in the face of evolving realities and challenges.
Since embracing information technology in the early 1970s, Dr Walji has accrued a unique understanding of its applications in consumer education. His research interests encompass integrative health care, behavioural finance, and recently, persuasive technology designed to change user attitudes and behaviours through positive encouragement and social influence.
Dr Walji serves as the President of Integrative Quest, a company specializing in creating e-learning products for the financial and healthcare industries. His proficiency in communications and media usage extends beyond traditional technology utilization, leveraging innovative applications in integrative healthcare, capacity development, and financial literacy. As a prolific writer, he has authored over 26 consumer titles on nutrition and natural medicine, reinforcing his status as a leading voice in his field.
He is the Executive Director of the United Global Initiative, an international NGO focused on women’s empowerment and addressing social injustices within civil society. The United Global Initiative has a signature program called CodeGirls, which empowers girls from marginalized societies to enter the tech sector. He also holds positions as the Director of the Jaffer Family Foundation, the Founding Director of the Oasis Center for Intellectual Development, and the founding Director of the Karbala Center for Humanity at the University of Texas at Dallas. He is also a contributor to the ‘Ashura At Harvard’ study track at the Harvard Divinity School.
Dr Walji’s commitment to the Muslim community spans over four decades, marked by active involvement in various boards, including the World Federation of KSI Muslim Communities, American Muslim Health Professionals, National Muslim Catholic Dialogue, the Interfaith Peace Ministry of Orange County, and the Shia Muslim Council of Southern California.
As an oral historian, he has produced a groundbreaking two-hour documentary, “The Khojas – A Journey of Faith,” which traces the heritage of the community he originates from over seven centuries. As a public speaker, he has delivered lectures and recited Majlises worldwide, furthering his influence and impact.
Guided by a vision to create a better world for his seven grandchildren, in his golden years, Dr Walji continues to dedicate himself to research, education, social justice activism, community service, and women’s empowerment through the United Global Initiative and its transformative programs like CodeGirls.
