In this day and age, everything happens so quickly that we don’t have the time to sit and process. Those who do take a pause are considered weak. Why is everything so fast-paced? Taking time off to heal from a death or even sickness is looked down upon. Did you know that your mind needs this solitude and peace every once in a while?

Trauma is an incident that one goes through, leaving a major impact on his/her day-to-day life. This could be through physically being in a situation such as an accident, sickness, abuse or witnessing something yourself that leaves a permanent print in your mind. It could also be through losing a loved one, being around violence or being exploited.

When this is not taken seriously, we get many cases of suicide, loss of identity and confidence and mainly anxiety. Any similar or even small event can then put that person in shock, cause palpitations and even lead to medical problems.

After any traumatic incident, it is vital to let your mind rest, talk about it as needed and heal calmly. Your health and well-being are in your own hands, and no labels should stop you from taking the time you need.

One of the most powerful tools to get through this is Dua. It’s where you are talking to Allah yourself and spilling all your problems to Him. Who can be a better listener and therapist than your Creator? Duas like Nade Ali and Jawshan Al Kabeer instantly provide the heart with so much energy and a wave of calmness. That is the beauty of these supplications that we must hold on to. Namaz, as well, is a very powerful way to stay grounded and positive because each action of Namaz has also been designed so perfectly to remove all the negative and charge up the body with positive energy.

So even if you find it difficult and time-consuming, it is important that you take out time and indulge in these supplications. Understand what you are reciting, and you will see time just fly by with the sweetness and beauty of these words.
