Two Ears, One Mouth: The Art of Ikigai Conversation”

Spiritual Ostrichism: The Prophet, Social Justice, and Our Selective Memory by Dr Hasnain Gulamali Walji

Every Friday, the khutbah drums into us the horrors of Jahiliyyah. That dark age before Islam. Daughters buried alive. Slaves whipped under the desert sun. Tribes killing each other over camels and water wells. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came, they tell us, and shattered the idols of ignorance. He brought justice. He brought equality.

The Spiritual Journey of Arbaeen – A Path of Reform and Renewal by Mohamedarif Mohamed Suleman

The Arbaeen pilgrimage is a profound expression of faith and devotion in Shi´a Muslim tradition, commemorating the 40th day after Ashura, marking the end of a period of mourning for Imam Hussain (AS), a grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). One of the most poignant aspects of this pilgrimage is the 80km walk from Najaf to Karbala, undertaken by millions of devotees. This journey is more than a physical trek; it represents a spiritual path of reform, renewal, and devotion.

The Pitfalls of Development Language in Understanding Culture and Civilisation by William C Chittick

Development language is strewn with pitfalls for anyone who wants to speak about culture and civilisation. What sort of problems arise when we employ the language of development? By “development language”, I mean the well-known words that are current in the United Nations and governmental agencies throughout the world. I quote list of these words from the table of contents of The Development Dictionary, a book that should be required reading for anyone who is not convinced that modern Western society provides the model that all peoples in the world must follow: “development, environment equality, helping, market, needs, one world, participation, planni population, poverty, progress, production, resources, science, socialis standards of living, state, technology.”
