Marhum Asgerali Fazal Virani

Marhum Asgerali Fazal Virani
1945-1991

Asgerali Fazal Virani was born on June 25, 1945, in Masasi, Tanzania, to Fazal Rehmtulla Virani. He moved to Dar es Salaam, where he established a successful career as a businessman, founding several notable enterprises, including the Bobby Soap Factory, Vimto (Zahra Bottlers), and a cooking oil factory that became one of the largest in East Africa.

In 1983, Asgerali relocated to London, dedicating much of his time to philanthropic work and community service. His leadership roles at the KSI MC of London included Assistant Secretary, Vice President, and ultimately President. During this time, the KSI MC of London was facing significant debt, and Asgerali worked tirelessly to raise the necessary funds to pay it off, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to supporting his community.

Tragically, Asgerali passed away suddenly on December 27, 1991, corresponding to the 20th of Jammadi Al Thani 1412, on the Wiladat Night of Bibi Fatema (AS). He died in Mashhad, Iran, while visiting his son, who was studying in Qum. Asgerali is buried in the vicinity of Imam Reza (AS) in the Courtyard of Azadi.

His legacy of compassion, leadership, and dedication to community service continues to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May Allah SWT repose the departed soul in the abundance of His mercy and rest him amongst the chosen ones – Aameen. We request our readers to remember marhum and all the Marhumeen with Sura-e-Fateha.
