This theme will explore how the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as preserved and transmitted by the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), provide a timeless framework for addressing contemporary issues. The discussion will focus on principles of social justice, ethical leadership, interfaith dialogue, and personal responsibility in the face of modern challenges.

The series will cover the following subtopics

Week 1: The Prophet as a Role Model for Moral Leadership

  • The Prophet’s character (e.g., integrity, compassion, humility) is a foundation for effective and ethical leadership.
  • The application of his leadership principles in modern social, political, and corporate environments.
  • How to cultivate prophetic virtues in personal and community life.

Week 2: Social Justice – The Prophet’s Stand Against Oppression

  • The Prophet’s efforts to dismantle oppressive social structures in pre-Islamic Arabia (e.g., slavery, tribalism, gender inequality).
  • Applying his principles to contemporary issues like systemic injustice, racial discrimination, and economic inequality.
  • The role of religious communities in advocating for the marginalised.

Week 3: The Event of Ghadir Khumm and the Concept of Ethical Authority

Interpreting the message of Ghadir Khumm not just as a historical event but as a timeless principle of designated, just, and knowledgeable leadership.
The responsibilities of those in authority and the rights of the governed.
How this concept challenges modern forms of authoritarianism and corruption.

Week 4: Bridging Divides – The Prophet’s Example of Interfaith and Intra-faith Dialogue

The Prophet’s interactions with Christian, Jewish, and polytheistic communities.
Lessons from the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah and the Charter of Medina for peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution.
