We must ask ourselves how we can ensure that the message of Muharram continues to resonate deeply with the hearts of our youth?

Prayer in Arabic cements the Islamic brotherhood and emphasizes the universal character of Islam. Islam has come for the entire Human race. It is a fact that the Muslim Communities of the world, like all other communities, speak numerous languages and dialects. At the same time it should be appreciated that our life today is rapidly assuming international character. Distance between any two points of the world has shrinked fantastically. In every place you will find Muslims speaking different languages. Imagine a Muslim who is an Englishman going to China and passing through a street. Suddenly he hears the voice of, say ‘ching-chang-chung’ which, let us suppose mean ‘Allahu Akbar’ – God is Great.

Cancer is defined as an evil or destructive practice or phenomenon that is hard to contain or eradicate. Today the cancer that society is battling, unbeknown to us, is competition. Competing against each other! Does this presuppose that we shouldn’t compete? Absolutely not!

This publication originally started as print magazine in Nairobi under the auspices of the Haydari Madrasah. Later on, with greater demand for online material and demand to suppress costs as well as reach a wider audience, TC on Friday, became an online "Friday supplement". In the early 2000s, the forum received the support of The World Federation, giving their blessings to the publication as well as helping in its broadcast.

Again, with passage of time, changes are imminent as we now move to a more interactive state - a blog. To this end, I seek the support of all members who can contribute their valuable time and written material to the forum, which is being read all across the world.
