The theme picture depicts a scared normal (purposely avoiding use of a muslim symbol as the current threats are universally felt and also because Islam is a core belief and not just the outward appearance) person trying to hold on to the globe while wearing a mask (diseases as well as the pressure to adopt dual personality to be able to fit in with the majority), and looming over him are a trio of jet fighters (wars). On the other side, a splash of colours emanates out of the globe (Perversion), and then within the globe are three monumental feats of science, interrelated though, connectivity (spread of misinformation and fake marketing), drone (surveillance) and AI which we have just dealt with (fabrication capabilities). Right at the bottom people in bondage (modern slavery, trafficking, poverty), and finally a gleeful devil with his 3-pronged spear poking at the globe
Muslims are a growing presence in many parts of the world, but they still face negative views and discrimination from the public. One of the main challenges that Muslims face today is that they are a backward people, which tarnishes the image of Islam and creates fear and hostility among non-Muslims. Another challenge is the inability to apply Islam in their lives in the modern age, which requires reapplication of the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) according to the changing circumstances.
The events of Kerbala, where Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions sacrificed their lives for the sake of justice and truth, can offer valuable lessons for Muslims today. One lesson is to stand up against oppression and tyranny, even if it means facing death. Another lesson is to remain faithful to Allah (SWT) and His commands, even if it means facing hardship and suffering. A third lesson is to show compassion and mercy to others, even if they are enemies or strangers.
Muslims today can learn from the example of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions, who embodied the true spirit of Islam. They can also strive to overcome the challenges they face by following the Quran and the Sunnah, which provide guidance and wisdom for all times and situations. By doing so, they can contribute positively to their societies and show the beauty and peace of Islam to the world.
