Books have been among my most loyal companions for as long as I can remember. They walked beside me through childhood in Tanzania – in dusty classrooms, quiet evenings at home, and moments of youthful curiosity. Even though he possessed lofty spiritual stations, had found a special place in the hearts of the Muslim faithful and was granted a particular form of respect from members of his family, the Prophet of Islam (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) never liked for others to perform his personal chores. Rather, he sought to be completely independent in taking care of his personal affairs. By so doing, he succeeded in showing respect towards others and not thinking of himself as better than others as well as teaching others to be self-reliant.

This publication originally started as print magazine in Nairobi under the auspices of the Haydari Madrasah. Later on, with greater demand for online material and demand to suppress costs as well as reach a wider audience, TC on Friday, became an online "Friday supplement". In the early 2000s, the forum received the support of The World Federation, giving their blessings to the publication as well as helping in its broadcast.

Again, with passage of time, changes are imminent as we now move to a more interactive state - a blog. To this end, I seek the support of all members who can contribute their valuable time and written material to the forum, which is being read all across the world.
